Mary Giro, PT

Mary graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science/ Pre-Physical Therapy from Rutgers University in 1989 and a Masters in Physical Therapy from University of California in 1993. Mary has over 20 years of experience in the field of Physical Therapy.  After receiving her physical therapy license in California, she worked for Los Angeles County School System for two years working with children 3 years old to 21 years old in a school setting with a medical therapy unit for out- patients. After moving to Florida, Mary worked for 12 years at Health South Sunrise Rehabilitation hospital with in and out-patients birth to 21. At the hospital Mary treated multiple diagnosis including genetic syndromes, orthopedic conditions, cerebral palsy, burns, brain injury. Mary received specialized training at the hospital in burn rehabilitation, serial casting, NDT certification, coma stimulation, interactive metronome, Kinesiotaping, vestibular rehabilitation techniques.

Since moving to North Carolina 6 years ago, she has worked as a Physical Therapist in the NC public school system, as well as doing private home health care working with children in the early intervention program and in the schools.
